VOICE - PIANO - SONGWRITING - EARLY CHILDHOOD
Hi friends! If we haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Lauren. I have been teaching piano and voice both in person and online for twelve years. I am a graduate of Grant MacEwan University's Music Diploma program, with a major in Vocal Performance. I have performed and competed in and around the Edmonton area all my life. From a young age, I have studied both voice and piano, and I aim every day to pass on snippets of my knowledge and love for music to those around me. I am most influenced in pop and jazz styles, but am flexible in most areas and love working with students of all ages and abilities. I have completed my Royal Conservatory Grade 8 piano exam with first class honours and am actively eating up Grade 9 material. I'm also a registered voice teacher with the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association.
In 2015, I decided to cultivate my own business teaching music from home. After nine years of growth, and through a great deal of tenacity (and miracles, of course) I opened up Grace Notes at our new studio home at 111 First Ave in January 2024. I'm HONOURED to be able to establish a team of musicians as passionate as I am about delivering solid music education to the core of Spruce Grove. We cannot wait to build a safe and awesome community powered by music with you!
My personal philosophy as a teacher is that music is a fun and winding adventure that grows you *if* you're consistent, but that everyones adventure looks a little different. I teach many students who pursue one specific area/genre of interest, and many who have widely varied lessons. I pride myself on being extremely flexible as we navigate your musical goals.
When I'm not teaching, you'll find me at book stores or comic expos as I'm both an avid reader and an avid nerd. I co-run a book reviewing YouTube channel with my best friend, craft often, dance weekly, and love spending time with my (also musician) husband, and our sweet energetic pup. He and I are slowly chipping away my second studio project too! Catch me worshipping at Saints Church Glory Hills on Sunday mornings, and check out my debut EP at the link below.
If you have any questions, please give me a shout via the contact tab! I'm so excited to begin a new musical journey with you!

Specializing in both electric and upright bass, he has performed professionally on the Alberta music scene for over three years in a variety of musical styles. His teaching philosophy aims to meet the musical goals and interests of the student, and work together to build a personalized curriculum that is both creative and fun, while establishing a strong foundation for the student’s musical pursuits. He is excited to get started teaching bassists at any level as well as beginner guitar and piano students!
GUITAR - BASS - UKULELE
Noah is a 4th year bachelor of music student at MacEwan, plays many instruments, and has much experience with music theory as well as a highly trained ear. Noah enjoys all genres of music, specializing in rock, funk, jazz, R&B, metal, and soul music. At around the age of 6, Noah first began piano lessons. By the time they were 9, Noah had picked up their first guitar and started learning chords and scales. Taking lessons from multiple teachers beforehand, including some celebrated musicians, Noah started a career in teaching guitar at the young age of 16, and has been teaching since.
Noah’s teaching style changes depending on the needs of the student. Whether or not you want to read sheet music, fingerpicking, or soloing. The possibilities are endless! Often, we use songs, scales, and chords to learn proper techniques on the guitar, such as how to strum and pick properly. Additionally, Noah will supplement your knowledge of music with theory and ear training to help build musical understanding.

PIANO - THEORY
Grace is a new-to-the-studio teacher this fall teaching both beginner piano and theory of all ages (fun songs, method books, or early RCM). She is currently a student through the Royal Conservatory of Toronto working towards a pedagogy diploma. She has been playing piano since the young age of 4, as well as picking up and trying different instruments such as the violin and guitar for fun! Grace believes that the piano is the foundation of all instruments and is so excited to get to continue her teaching journey this year and pass on her education and love for the piano!
